Allen Weinberg has been in private practice as a Criminal Defense Attorney since he graduated law school in 1993. He provides representation to individuals accused or convicted of crimes throughout California in both state and federal court. He has tried numerous cases to not guilty verdicts and, as appellate counsel, has secured reversals of many convictions and sentences.

Mr. Weinberg graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany, and from California Western School of Law in San Diego. He has a particular interest in the intersections of business, commerce and criminal / regulatory matters.

Having tried complex cases in both state and federal courts, in recent years, Mr. Weinberg has devoted more of his practice to criminal appeals and other post-conviction work, including motions for new trial, sentence modifications, and petitions for writ of habeas corpus. Mr. Weinberg regularly argues before the California Courts of Appeal and has argued multiple times before the California Supreme Court.

Mr. Weinberg has been counsel of record in numerous precedent-setting California cases, spanning a wide array of legal topics involving serious felony matters, Fourth Amendment search and seizure law, medical marijuana, the right to a unanimous verdict, instructional issues, and areas particular to juveniles accused of serious crimes. He has handled a variety of cases including Insurance Fraud, Real Estate Fraud, Murder, Robbery, Embezzlement, Domestic Violence, Sex Crimes, Child Abuse, White Collar Crimes, Medical Marijuana, Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Alcohol, and Asset Forfeiture Matters. Mr. Weinberg has also represented juveniles accused of a range of serious offenses in adult, juvenile delinquency, and appellate courts.

Clients have included business professionals, entertainment executives, doctors, lawyers, and the minor children of prominent executives and professionals. All cases are personally handled with confidentially and discretion.

Mr. Weinberg is admitted to practice law in the United States Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Weinberg is a past President of the Santa Monica Bar Association Barristers’ Board of Trustees and has been recognized with the California State Bar Association’s Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services. He is a member of California Appellate Defense Counsel.
